Greta Marchegger

Greta is a multilingual presenter, commentator and host with over twelve years of experience bringing live events, broadcasts, streams and ceremonies to life. Specializing in sports, particularly action, wind and water sports, she blends firsthand athletic knowledge with natural storytelling, audience connection and dynamic stage presence. In 2026, Greta proudly became the first ever Female Host of The Defi Wind, the world’s biggest windsurfing, kite and wing foil competition, which takes place in the South of France.

Born and raised in Trentino–Alto Adige, one of Italy’s officially bilingual regions, Greta grew up immersed in both Italian and German. This early linguistic foundation paved the way for her exceptional fluency and effortless ability to switch between multiple languages today including German, Italian, English, French and Spanish.  Although she works across many languages, she likes to say that a smile remains her favourite one!

Greta’s connection to action sports runs deep. A former professional windsurfer calling Lake Garda her home spot, one of Europe’s most renowned watersport hubs, she quite literally grew up in and around wind and water. Over the years she expanded her own boardsport universe to include wingfoiling, surfing and sailing, while also nurturing a passion for land-based boardsports such as skateboarding and snowboarding.

Her interests stretch across the entire spectrum of high-energy, high-speed and adrenaline-fueled disciplines: she is as enthusiastic about action and watersports as she is about motorsports, including Formula 1 and MotoGP. Growing up surrounded by the mountains and lakes of Northern Italy, while competing on oceans across the globe, she developed a deep love for the outdoors in all its forms. This broad passion gives her commentary a unique blend of technical insight and genuine excitement.

Academically, Greta holds a Bachelor’s degree in Media & Communication Studies with a focus on Journalism and TV, as well as a Master’s degree in Marketing & Sales. These studies and experiences have equipped her with a strong understanding of media dynamics, storytelling, social media communication and on-screen presentation, all of which seamlessly inform her work as a presenter and commentator. Greta is known for her vibrant energy, authentic delivery and effortless multilingual transitions. Whether she is guiding audiences through high-stakes sports events, interviewing athletes or anchoring live shows, she brings professionalism, warmth and a deep affinity for sports.

Alongside her presenting and commentating career, Greta also works as a model and content creator, further enhancing her experience in front of the camera and expanding her versatility across creative and media-driven environments.
